Minehead Railway Station

My last day at Minehead had to include a visit to the railway station. I was not disappointed!  Again, the weather on my side, provided the perfect conditions to capture the day to day running of the railway.  Although a thing of the past, it is with thanks to preservation societies that the steam railways can live on.
When photographing vintage stations, the mix of nostalgia is spiced up with a blend of colourful characters. I`m looking out for guards, station staff, engine drivers/stokers.  I enjoy their attention to detail, witnessed by the camera lens, as they parade around in their historic costumes.  The camera is a good witness as it documents the dedication and attention to detail which is required to maintain the running of this valuable service.
